Jim and Kristy’s story in Port St. John is one of love and deep connection—to each other and their community of over 40 years. They grew up in the area, drawn by its quiet charm, and built a life together after marrying 35 years ago, raising a family rooted in creativity, nature, and connection.
Kristy’s love for plants has always been central to their life. From vibrant gardens to rare, exotic collections, her passion lies in creating peaceful spaces full of life and beauty. Jim’s creativity found expression in metalwork, transforming scrap into stunning sculptures that tell imaginative stories and spark wonder.
Together, they dreamed of blending their passions to benefit their community. They envisioned a space where people could relax, connect with nature, and enjoy art and good company in a peaceful setting. That dream became The Plant Shack Beer and Wine Garden & Plant Boutique.
The Plant Shack reflects everything they cherish: Kristy’s curated plants, Jim’s unique sculptures, and a welcoming atmosphere where guests can unwind with craft beer or wine surrounded by greenery. It’s a labor of love that celebrates art, nature, and community.
